Brighton in the summer ♥

I love Brighton at summer time. All my winters are spent dreaming of the days that will be spent lazing at the beach, soaking up the few rays that the British summer has to offer. This year we have been amazingly lucky to have good weather after enduring one soggy summer after another.

These photos are by my friend Kez Martin, and I think they capture Brighton summer time perfectly. My favourite is the second one. She says that nothing can quite capture the stunning view of the coast from Brighton Pier, but I think this photo doesn't do too badly at all! If you've never been to Brighton, I think these might just make you want to give our city a go.

Laura Marling - Rambling Man

To most people, diving into a rough sea in a pair of trunks in search of a metal box may seem odd, but here in Brighton anything goes. Luckily, Laura Marling's video for the stunning Rambling Man was filmed here and I'm sure no one even batted an eyelid. After all it's home to Britain's first nudist beach, and dozens of reckless Brightonians leap into the sea every Christmas Day.

Laura Marling's breathtakingly mature lyrics and voice at the tender age of twenty are the perfect accompaniment to the sway of the starlings over Brighton Pier that residents are sure to recognise in this video.

Her album I Speak Because I Can is out now.
