DM Stith's contradictory album title Heavy Ghost prepares the listener for what's to come. His sound is dissonant and haunting yet entices and soothes.
Coming from the most musical of families: his father a wind ensemble director; his grandfather Cornell University's professor emeritus and his mother a pianist; Heavy Ghost acknowledges the elephant in the room that was his retreat into painting as a child followed by a career in graphic design. Perhaps eventually he felt had to release the burden of his musical talents.
